A belated happy new year! It's been a while since my last post, but with good reason I promise! Pictured left is a Chinese dragon from New Years Eve at the Celtic Manor in Wales. I have no real desire to perform on New Year, so it was great to relax and enjoy others entertaining me. New Years Day, was the usual hungover affair, and then I had my first gig of 2013 at the Jamboree Venue in Limehouse. I fell in love with the venue, and was so glad that I had been able to discover it. Not the easiest place to perform, as the stage appears to be held together with a few nails and some gaffa tape! Still, Lolly Poppins went down well, and doing only one act meant that I could see plenty of the acts from the audience, which always convinces me that I'm not actually working!

Two days afterward, I celebrated my birthday with a few friends in a local pub, and two days later I went to see 1927's 'The Animals and the Children Took to the Streets' at the National Theatre. I am a huge fan of their work;, the music and animation was stunning, and it had a deliciously dry humour.

The weekend that followed was spent in glorious Amsterdam with two friends. As it was my second visit to the city, I was on the lookout for some of the quirkier museums, and was recommended the Cabinet of Cats, which is near the flower market, and was curated by a wealthy dutchman in homage to his cat. We also went on a guided tour of the red light district, which was fascinating, and I am something of an expert on window prostution now!. Travelling with two open-minded, intelligent women, meant that we were able to have several interesting discussions on the topic too. The jury is still out on this one!

Our First Snow: 'Most' of the LISPA Initiation Students
No recovery time was permitted on Monday morning, as I was out of the door at 7am for my first day at the London International School of Performing Arts. I am recovering from the crazy week now - movement, singing, acrobatics, and a whole lot of laughing with a fantastic set of people. I have never been so disappointed that it was the weekend, and I am so excited to see what the next six months will bring!

I traipsed through the snow last night to a late gig (Masks and Basques) at the Rose Theatre in Kingston. It was an amazing event; music, circus, walkabout, cabaret and burlesque. I loved 'Felix Hagan and the Family' and shared a dressing room with the 'family' - who were tremendously friendly, and stayed to watch me perform, even though I wasn't on until 1am. Always a pleasure to see Anna Larkin, Ava Iscariot, Sass Boufant and Eljai Morais.

Tomorrow night I'm performing my Allo Allo act at the Distiller's Bar in Hammersmith (hooray for local-ish gigs and Miss Odelia Opium!), so I just need to rest my aching shoulders and get ready for a week of playfulness with Angela - Oh My God I Love Her - DiCastro!
